Introduction to Thistles of Morocco
| This gallery contains photos of mostly annuals that all share the characteristic of having sharp prickles all over the plant. Scientifically these plants usually belong only to the family Asteraceae. The tribe Cynareae includes most species referred to as ‘thistles’. For my purposes, at least at this stage of organization and taxonomy, I am including ALL prickle bearing annuals. As with my other botanical photo galleries I make an effort to provide the correct scientific names for each plant – however I no doubt have made several errors which I apologize for.
